basically the *weirdest* end to a series i’ve ever seen. house faking his death? beyond creepy. i mean, he’s giving up the thing he loves doing—solving puzzles—for LIFE. is that supposed to make him a better person…?
what’s he gonna do when wilson dies? become a nomad? seriously, like wilson said, he’s destroying his entire life. what’s left? serious jail time or nothing. i wish i could see where this ended up.
In my opinion; I was under the assumption he was levelling himself with Wilson. Basically he’d stay alive for 5 months FOR Wilson and then die with Wilson since he technically already did die. So Wilson wouldn’t have to die alone; he’d die WITH him. IF it hadn’t played out this way there’s no way Wilson would accept that House would want to die with him. So he just delayed suicide in my opinion which makes this even more bittersweet.
Finale realizations
1) House was a no show on a hooker… (that is valid because he NEVER no shows. Proves Wilson means more than even sex. Not even hookers are fulfilling him anymore…
2) House gave up EVERYTHING for Wilson. EVERYTHING. Even having a wife and kids (which is what I took from the scenes with Stacy and Cameron. He couldn’t love them (including Cuddy) in the way he should because loves Wilson. His subconscious was literally going through all these fantasies about what one assumes they want in life. To realize all he really wants is the 5 months with Wilson. Stacy talks about love and it cuts to Wilson and House. And in the end he gave up EVERYTHING for him because in reality Wilson IS his everything so he really didn’t lose anything because he has all he needs and so does Wilson. In my opinion he evened him and Wilson.
3) In my opinion this is the ultimate expression of love and I think House and Wilson love each other unconditionally and they love each other in every way. Something unconventional Eh, normalcy is overrated. I think it’s clear Wilson replaces Stacy, Dominika, Cameron and Cuddy’s roles in House’s life as the love of his life. It doesn’t mean those 3 don’t mean anything to him; it just means Wilson means more than everyone else. It’s just ironic the timing. It’s tragic really. This realization makes it 10x more bittersweet knowing they both came to a realization but it was too late. They realized their feelings when they only have 5 months. Beautiful epitome of what any friendship or relationship should be.

You know what? I honestly don’t think House will say it. Not in a sincere emotional way anyway. He might scream it across a crowded room and then smile at Wilson and walk away. But I can see House showing Wilson he loves him and then saying ‘I’m still not saying it’. I’ll be surprised if he does.

There is one giant, major, huge glaring problem with this argument and it’s this: it is never ever applied to male and female friendships. No one is ever whining that close male and female friends should just stay friends and be platonic. Why can’t Benson and Stabler just be friends? Barney and Robin or Robin and Ted? Sheldon and Penny? Why are males and females automatically paired up - by the very people that made them, in fact - but males and males and females and females should only be “close” or in “loving, platonic” relationships? Bullshit. Why is it okay to ship het couples just because they’re friends but not okay to ship slash couples for the same reason? Until the day we can say “Why are so many people blah blah shippers, why can’t (male character) and (female character) just be close friends?” this argument is FUCKING INVALID for slash couples so kindly fuck off.
